RinCon 2015

Games, games, games and more games! A whirlwind trip to Tucson turned out to be quite the gaming adventure! Destination . . . RinCon 2015, Southern Arizona’s premier tabletop gaming convention! It was literally scheduled play time and I loved it. I was thrilled to finally have the chance to demo a few games that I’ve had my eye on. For starters, Love Letter, an extremely simple and interactive game of risk, deduction, and luck where players attempt to deliver their love letter into the Princess’s hands while keeping other players’ letters away was exciting and fun and fast and is available in 8 different themed editions. I enjoyed this game so much I ordered Love Letter: Batman Edition, where in the role of the Dark Knight you rid villains from the streets of Gotham City and also Love Letter: The Hobbit, The Battle of Five Armies where you are sent on a quest to reclaim the Arkenstone and some nonsense about a dragon (wink). Lucky me, my order arrived in the mail today! Looking forward to the plot twists these themes will provide. RinCon

Another game I had the chance to play was Guillotine, a macabre game set during the French Revolution where nobles line up each day for a casual beheading by the executioner. Action cards comically manipulate game play but ultimately the player with the most valuable heads and of course the most points wins! This game was easy to learn and super fun to play, laughter and snickering included! I highly recommend adding both Love Letter (whatever edition floats your boat) and Guillotine to your own game collection.

A few other games that I am SUPER excited to share are Texas Hold’em W/ Zombies which I did not get to play but am adding to my “need to play list” and two yet unpublished games worthy of their very own future blog posts . . . Monster Crush and Villains and Henchmen! More info to come!

In the meantime, don’t hold back, schedule yourself some playtime!
